چکیده

Four types of global error for initial value problems are considered in a common framework. They include classical forward error analysis and shadowing error analysis together with extensions of both to rescaling of time. To determine the amplification of the local error that bounds the global error we present a linear analysis similar in spirit to condition number estimation for linear systems of equations. We combine these ideas with techniques for dimension reduction of di↵erential equations via a boundary value formulation of numerical inertial manifold reduction. These global error concepts are exercised to illustrate their utility on the Lorenz equations and inertial manifold reductions of the Kuramoto-Sivashinsky equation.

Error reduction for an inertial-sensor-based dynamic parallel kinematic machine positioning system

This paper addresses the development of an error reduction strategy for an inertial-sensor-based system for measuring the displacement of parallel kinematic machine (PKM) struts and hence the tool centre point pose. The error reduction strategy can significantly improve the performance of low-cost accelerometers and has many potential generic inertial measurement applications. Inertial measurem...

Gyroscope Drift Error Analysis in the Position-Independent Navigation Algorithm of a stable platform Inertial System

This paper deals with analyzing gyroscope drift error in the position-independent navigation algorithm of a stable platform inertial system. Most of the stable platform navigation algorithms proposed in the literature have drawbacks of estimating position rates for alignment commands. Not only the estimating position rates are the basic source of position errors, but they also make the alignmen...

Error Analysis and Reduction for Shearer Positioning using the Strapdown Inertial Navigation System

Shearer dynamic positioning is a key factor for coal mine equipment automation, and it is feasible to shearer positioning using the strapdown inertial navigation system(SINS). Yet, it is very difficult to guarantee positioning accuracy by error influence. This paper provided a method for shearer positioning error analysis. Firstly, we built the shearer state equation and put forward a method ca...
